Grassroot women empowerment for 2027

Mama Asiyo is a matriarch who fought for the voices of women through advocating for economic empowerment, maternal health, participation in governance, prison reforms and representation of women in cultural leadership and constitution. To honor her legacy, the Mama phoebe Asiyo foundation aims to empower grassroots women in Kenya for 2027 elections using the following strategies;

Connecting upcoming women candidates with experienced women leaders who can mentor and guide them through political processes.

Training women aspirants on how to draft policies, engage in parliamentary debates, and address key national issues.

Grassroots Mobilization & Community Engagement

Women’s Political Awareness Forums: Conduct county-level barazas to raise awareness of women’s rights to political participation.

Lobby Political Parties: Advocate for internal party reforms to ensure women have fair nomination processes.

Legal Support: Provide legal aid and monitoring for women candidates facing electoral injustices.

Visibility & Media Engagement

Media Training: Train women aspirants on handling interviews, debates, and social media campaigns.

Storytelling Campaigns: Share inspiring stories of successful women leaders to motivate young women.
