Climate change

Climate change refers to the long-term shifts in global temperatures and weather patterns, largely driven today by human activities such as deforestation, pollution, and the burning of fossil fuels. The visible effects of climate change are rising temperatures, prolonged droughts, floods, and biodiversity loss.

As a result, are lives and livelihoods, especially those of vulnerable communities are highly. we all have a role to play in addressing the climate change crisis. through adopting sustainable practices, conserving natural resources, planting trees, supporting renewable energy, and advocating for greener policies we can collectively slow down climate change and ensure a healthier future for generations to come.

Tree planting

Planting trees is like planting hope. Activities like deforestation and land degradation have left a lot of land without trees. Such activities cause climate change with adverse effects.  We have seen effects like rising temperatures, high levels of heat, drought, lack of rainfall and other adverse weather conditions. Trees are very important in the ecosystem. They play roles like absorbing carbon dioxide, reducing greenhouse gases, regulating rainfall, improving soil fertility, and preventing erosion. In addition to that, indigenous trees provide food, medicine, and livelihoods.

The Kenyan government launched a plan to plant 15 billion trees by 2032, aiming to increase tree cover to 30%. This would not only balance the ecosystem but also fight desertification, restore watersheds, and improve biodiversity. To honor policies like these and others related to increasing tree coverage, we will engage in tree planting campaigns that will involve schools, communities and other willing participants. Under this initiative, we also encourage those living near forests to plant and preserve. We will have an adopt a tree initiative where participants plants and cares for a tree.

Renewable Energy

Using clean energy reduces reliance on firewood and charcoal, cuts carbon emissions from kerosene, diesel, and open fires. Use of renewable energy is achievable through advocating and providing ways in which renewable energy is accessed. we intend to focus on solar energy programs which will assist in providing energy from the readily available sun.

Water Security.

water is a human right, no one should have to walk miles to access it. In areas where access to clean and safe water for use is a challenge to livelihoods, investing in community water projects can be a lifesaver.  Facilities like boreholes, sand dams, and rainwater harvesting tanks can be established. This will ensure that, communities can survive dry seasons and support sustainable farming and livestock practices. Solar energy can also be involved in pumping of water.

Advocacy and policy engagement.

Advocacy is at the heart of our climate action strategy. We champion and support policies that directly address the effects of climate change while ensuring inclusivity and sustainability.

  • Promote equal access to clean water for women, children, and marginalized communities.

  • Equip young women leaders to become climate champions who carry the legacy forward.

  • Build the capacity of women and youth to actively participate in county-level climate policy forums.

  • Form strong alliances with NGOs, churches, and civic groups to amplify advocacy efforts.

  • Push for government policies that make clean and affordable energy accessible to rural families.

  • Lead campaigns against plastic pollution by engaging youth as educators and community enforcers.
